TRANSPARENT DOCUMENT HANDLING

Privacy and file retention

IST PDF Studio processes files on its configured server. Uploaded and generated PDF contents are held in a private temporary folder, outside the public website root. The document contents are not saved as blobs in the SQL database.

What the database stores

Only operational information such as guest workspace IDs, job IDs, tool names, processing status, output filenames, timestamps, usage counts and administrator accounts is stored. Share-request metadata is stored if you create a signature or scan request.

How long files remain

Files remain in the private temporary folder until download finishes and the server can delete the output, or until the scheduled cleanup command removes expired files. The recommended cPanel cron runs flask cleanup --hours 1 every 10 minutes. This means ordinary files may remain for approximately 60–70 minutes after processing; they may remain for up to 60–70 minutes if the post-download cleanup does not run.

Signature and scan requests can be active for up to 24 hours. An expired request's files are removed by scheduled cleanup.

Your controls

The public My Files/history page has been removed. Download links are temporary and are not displayed in a file-history list. Anyone in possession of a signature-request link may view the associated signing document while that request remains valid, so only share such links with intended recipients.

Do not upload highly sensitive or confidential material unless your organization's security requirements permit processing through this server. For questions, see the company website.
